Over the past few years I have noticed more photo book companies offering quick and accessible options to upload your photos and place them into a book for you. As wonderful as this might seem, these computer generated softwares designs can very misleading.
While your photos will be printed into photo books, they may come with some downfalls. For example, photos being stretched and blurry or photos printed on low quality flimsy paper. I have spoken to a few clients who have tried these books themselves and have ultimately stopped using photo books because of the disappointment when they arrived. This really breaks my heart because your precious photos deserve to be printed in beautiful coffee table books. These are the memories you look back on in life.
Every year I visit The Photography Show in either Birmingham or London. It gives me a chance to see new printers and photo book companies on the market. Most of these companies aim their books to professional photographers to offer high quality photo books to their clients. As wonderful as our new digital age is, I do believe that somethings cannot be completely replaced by technology. I read somewhere recently that theses following skills will be hard to be taken over by artificial intelligence; empathy, judgement and creativity.
